Advanced intelligence

Far more than a simple network calculation.

Sizing is only the beginning. ORCANET packs five optimization engines at the cutting edge — from chlorination to the real-time digital twin — that few software tools in the world bring together in one place.

In short — Beyond simulation, ORCANET optimises: least-cost pipe diameters, pump scheduling, pump selection from catalogues, chlorination, automatic calibration against measurements and a SCADA-connected digital twin. These heavy calculations run on dedicated servers and keep going after you close the tab.

Frequently asked questions

The questions we get asked

How do I optimise the pipe diameters of a water network?

By entering your constraints — minimum pressure at each node, maximum velocity, catalogue of diameters and unit prices — and running the optimisation. The engine explores thousands of combinations, checks the chosen candidate with a full 24-hour simulation, tank levels included, and returns the cheapest compliant network it found.

What is automatic calibration of a hydraulic model?

Calibrating a model means adjusting its uncertain parameters — pipe roughness, demands, set points — so that computed pressures and flows match those measured in the field. ORCANET does it automatically from your field readings: it adjusts the parameters, quantifies the remaining error sensor by sensor and produces a calibration report.

What is a digital twin of a water network?

It is a hydraulic model connected to the network's real measurements (SCADA, MQTT). It is continuously compared with the sensors, checks the computed state against the measured state and flags discrepancies: a likely leak, a valve in the wrong position, a faulty sensor. The model stops ageing in a folder: it follows the network.

How do I reduce pumping energy costs?

By scheduling pump running hours according to the electricity tariff and tank levels. ORCANET's energy scheduler looks for the cheapest schedule that keeps tanks within their levels and pressure above the minimum everywhere, then turns it into operational control rules.
